Agreed, sentiment is always worth expressing when it comes to good memories. My father asked me what guns of his I wanted and I asked for those he used, they hold memories of trips gone by. Trapr

Great story...
How'd that FTX .41 bullet work? I know the deer's dead but you know what I mean...

Great story... How'd that FTX .41 bullet work? I know the deer's dead but you know what I mean... As far as accuracy they've always been consistent and accurate on target. On the animal, I had a complete pass through and enough damage that made me impressed and confident to continue to use them. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it, when I normally do. It was a high shoulder shot and she dropped where she stood.

Not a special deer by any means, but just one finally taken with my Grandfather's gun that was left to me. That alone makes it special! Congrats!

Congrats on a very special trophy! I hunted this year for one deer that was going be special in one of two ways! One way was I carried a 1929 Savage 99 that was bought new the man that my father was named after. The rifle was left to me by my father. To the best my Father memory the rifle has never killed a Deer. The second way was to use my Huntington Single Five 10mm auto. The deer cooperated and the Savage is still unproven!

Great job! Really like seeing those old blued smiths. Looks to be in nice shape. When younger, those guns were hard to get, then became available for quite a few years. After looking at the new ones, I wish I had more of the old ones.

It’s not the size of the animal hunted, but more about the people and memories made while hunting. Time spent out in the field with family and friends is priceless! Using that firearm just adds great memories to your time on this world.

That is awesome. My Pop doesn’t hunt much anymore but when he does he likes to use my 6mm Remington. So I will Cary his Ruger 7mm Express! And I’m going to shoot the first legal deer I see when I’m carrying it…every time!
