Hey Lee, what do you feed box turtles? I feed them a pretty varied diet. Mostly fruits & vegetables like tomato, lettuce, diced carrot, apple, melon, and strawberries. For protein they get live worms, dried crickets, broiled chicken, etc. I supplement all of this with store bought "box turtle" pellets which contain all the vitamins they need Amazing creatures though. Mine hibernate from late October to mid-April. This past year, Lucky weighed 432 grams before he dug under......5 months later when he came up he still weighed 420 grams (he only dropped 2%). -Lee www.singleactions.com

Had to dodge a snapper 'bout the same size here yesterday. Was crossing from neibhors lake to ravine in my yard that leads to the Grand River in the backyard. Lunch and dinner had already been planned out, so... OK, so whats "Uncle Dave Macon's Day" entail ? Sounds like it might be some good redneck fun. Whats to eat there ? steve b

Uncle Dave Macon Days, held each year the weekend after the weekend of Independence Day at Cannonsburg Pioneer Village in Murfreesboro TN, is an annual festival and music contest in honor of the memory of the "Dixie Dewdrop" and first mega-star of the Grand Ole Opry, Uncle Dave Macon. It's the National Championship for Old-Time music and dance, and there a LOT going on. A good time is had by all, and of course there are lots of crafts, eats and such. I've been involved as a music judge for 20 years. www.uncledavemacondays.com/
