480 Ruger Hunter. Starline will make 480 brass just got to order enough. what is a dead cartridge? Well if they open the back order tab, maybe they will get orders. But even then they still have a problem. I was told that the credit card companies only allow them to store the buyer's purchase commitment for 90 days. That would mean a LOT OF people would have to make 1k orders OR a few make larger orders of 100k or more. Oh also... as I said guys like me must not buy .475 and chop it to .480 length, otherwise there is no incentive for them to make .480 native brass.

FYI. Yes the credit card information can only be stored for a limited time. However your backorder stays in place and Starline contacts via email when the brass is available. You have to call them at that time to confirm you still want the order and give credit card information again. Just had that happen in October on some 38-40 brass I had ordered a year ago. Had it happen on some 41 Mag brass one time that I had forgotten about.

A "performance center" line that is checked out and tuned up before going up for sale so no further checks or tweaking is required. I'd pay extra. Almost bought a single 7 at a LGS once. Went to check it out and something major was wrong. I don't recall what it was now; but remember that gun shop owner looked at it, said something like "wow. it should never have left the factory." I never said it but thought "it should also have never made it to the display counter".
On particular models, I held off for a long time waiting on a 5 5" bisley single 7 to be offered. Didn't happen.
I also like the idea of a single 7 hunter model.

Years ago my answer was an alloy Blackhawk in .357 Mag.
Today there's not too much that interests me. A shorter barreled Bisley 480 that was put together by someone who not only cared, but knew what they were doing would work. But like me not buying a FA 500WE either, if you can't feed it, why bother.

Dan That's good to know, but that begs the question... why then won't they put the .480 on backorder status if nothing else than to get a pulse of .480 needs? My only guess is that nicholst55 is correct in saying about .480... "but I honestly don't expect Starline to ever produce any more"

Don’t know this for a fact, but I’m guessing… They stop accepting backorders when they have as many in the hopper as they feel they can run when they DO run them. I would think that if they never plan to make anymore the .480 would be removed from the menu. Maybe a phone call is warranted.

Very simply bring back the GP100 5" half lug blued 357! I'll buy two, couldn't find one to purchase the first time Lipsey's had em out.

The 480 chambered in the SBH and the 44spec's in the mid-frames, am happy right here. I'll leave the next round of dreaming, hoping and begging to you guys. Enjoy, lay it on thick !

Yes. also I've often said when the 41SP gets mentioned that my Charter Arms Bulldog might well have made a better 41sp than a 44spec., much as I like it being a 44spec..

I would like a 41mag 5 shot 10 1/2 barrel. On a SBH Dragoon grip frame. And I would like them to do more to promote the 480 Ruger caliber

I know, I know, I said I'd leave off and let the youngers do some dreaming. But then I remembered something that had me curious and I mentioned here somewhere on the forum, a LCR/LCRx in 44spec.. I recall it was oddly pooh poo'd, not normal for this gang. The ounces to match, 23.4 oz.. What my 3" S.S. Classic Bulldog weighs with Pachy small grips. Never weighed with the bigger Presentation grips that have stayed in their box.

Ruger wish list. Well not a revolver but I'd like to see them make the Marlin 1894 Cowboy limited again with the 20" octagon barrel and full magazine tube with a trim walnut stock that doesn't need to be enrolled in Jenny Craig. The best kicker would be if they chambered it in 480 Ruger. If so, I'd take two to start.
Lipseys little flattop Bisleys in 44 Spl has really been my favorite of late. Just a neat little gun. Like to see them in blued and stainless in the 45 colt/ 45 ACP convertible. Possibly in 32-20 and 327 federal convertible as well.
Lipseys second ones are the 5 shot 454 and 480 Rugers. Just a few little tweaks. Make the cylinders a bit longer 1.8" so the 454's fit a bit better with heavy bullets. However the biggest request is both calibers to have proper chambers and throats. Most I've measured were quite a bit oversized.
If they really wanted to stir the pot, the Single Six in 38 spl six shot would be dandy. The cylinder is roughly the same size as a S&W 19 already and the centerfire versions exist already in 32 H&R and 327 Fed.

A bearcat in 32 h&r would sure be well received.
