I’d like to see a 10” 41 magnum large frame Blackhawk 6 1/2 or 7 1-2” mid frame 44 special. 1894 41 magnum.
That’ll do.

..... Flat top everything.
I wish not to offend anyone, but I've always thought the "ears" on the New Model were kind of ugly.
Now that I have a Flat Top, I'm totally sure of it. I MUCH prefer the looks of the Flat Tops.
And, yeah, more 32s. Hoping that one doesn't happen, because then I'd want to buy one.
More choices in lever-actions, as mentioned - anything that will fit.

Speaking of ammo availability, Contender, there is currently about zero availability of .480 ammo, and brass is made of unobtanium. Hornady, who partnered with Ruger to initially offer the cartridge only offers one factory load and ZERO brass. I can't see a resurrection of the cartridge occurring with next to no ammo and zero brass.

Back to the question... If there were a way to order .480 brass from Starline, how many rounds would it take to have them make them? I saw some speculative numbers tossed around but nothing current or concrete.

I have absolutely nothing to back up this supposition besides my gut, but I honestly don't expect Starline to ever produce any more. Not any more than ammo manufacturers order, anyway. Perhaps if someone placed an order for one million pieces of brass and prepaid, but otherwise, I don't see it happening. Prove me wrong, Starline.

You could be right, with clowns like me buying .475's and chopping them down where's the incentive to make .480?

bisleyfan41,,, Oops,, I didn't mean to make it sound like you & I were "Johnny dumb-butt rednecks!" (As well as MANY other shooters here.) I was trying to make the point that the protected ear rear sights were built after Bill Ruger got complaints of damaged sights by dumb-butts who didn't know how to take care of their guns. For the record,, I like both styles,, and see the need for protected ear sights. My typing didn't correctly translate what my mind was thinking! Consider my face as it would appear with egg all over it!

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I recall reading an article many years ago that said Elmer Keith made the recommendation to Ruger to protect the rear sight. I have a hard time believing that the ears really help to any significant degree, and are a solution to a largely nonexistent problem. I’ve seen damaged super Blackhawk sights where dropped guns landed on the sight. Crap sometimes happens, but not enough, I a don’t think, to make any a hill of beans.

How about a trim little 20 gauge side by side that's made in America and cost around $1000 ? Well, at least that almost happened .

Thanks Ty for so eloquently stating the facts. I would love to see Ruger partner with Ronnie Wells and offer some of his grip frames. If they would make a “Pistol Pack” ala Dan Wesson and use Fink’s interchangeable barrels they would have something special. And last bring back the Maximum!

I'm gonna drift over to the Marlin side of the company and wish for a stainless, octagon barreled model 39A, still marked .22 short, long, and long rifle.

+1 for DX front sight base from Ruger. I'd buy a Redhawk in 45 Colt with 5.5 inch barrel and blued finish. Now you're talking... a 4" blue Redhawk in 44 or 45 would have me reaching for the wallet.

Elmer Keith in “Sixguns” …
On the Flattop “the rear sight still wiggled around when raised out of its mortise”.
On the SBH “The barrel was 7 1/2” and he greatly improved the rear sight by extending the top of the frame in a flange on both sides of the rear sight so it could not move sideways when raised”
No mention of adding protection for the sight.
My Christmas wish is for a 41 Magnum “Turnbull” Bisley like the 45 Colt from a few years ago. I know it was a distributor exclusive but I would sure like one in 41. My 45 Turnbull is the best Ruger I own.

Thanks for the kind words pacecars,, since I was so good at stuffing my foot in my mouth! I hate it when I'm typing,, and my mind is thinking one direction, and my written word isn't what I was trying to convey to others. As for other wishes,, some are realistic,, and others,, never going to happen. Remember,, it's about money & production numbers. As for wishes,, I'm sure that some of them will fit the bill when Ruger decides to introduce them. They do want to be an industry leader & offer innovative products. But it needs to be something that sells a lot. The idea of a .357 Maximum is a good thing to wish for. Making it in stainless would separate it from the originals, and with the time proven knowledge of so many good shooters now,, that the reasoning behind Bill scrapping the program,, could be overcome. We can hope a bit here. I think it would be an easier product to bring to the market without a huge expense. And I'm sure they would sell a fair number of them. BUT,,, the downside is no current factory ammo is available. So it'd have to be a cooperative effort between Ruger & an ammo company.

A scope ready 10.5" stainless 357 maximum. David Bradshaw has already laid out the other parameters as far as forcing cone, muzzle crown, etc. A low recoiling, flat shooting, hard hitting, easy loading caliber that will handle a lot of game bigger than deer with correct bullets. Any of the ammo manufacturers can put the ammo together. Maybe it won't happen but a lot of six gunners need this caliber. Lipsey's is our life line to making this happen, come on Lipsey's.
