As I have posted before, I am teaching myself revolver smithing. There simply no one nearby to mentor me, so I rely upon the experience of the fine gentlemen on this forum. I have decided to replace the front sight on my project Blackhawk 45. The original is a bit damaged and a bit short by the time the dents and road rash are filed out for the heavy bullets I want to use. I'm leaning towards the 2dogs TLA sight. Desoldering the old sight off and soldering the new on is not a problem, as the whole gun will be polished out and reblued anyway (cold rust or maybe charcoal if I can figure it all out). My question is, what's the best way to line-up the front sight and hold it for soldering? Is there a jig available I haven't been able to Google fu?

Some front sight ramps have a locator pin underneath. You could add one to keep the ramp from slipping while you solder it.

I ordered the one from Brownells since I needed some other things too.
