Is there something special about this barrel? It seems like you could get a barrel off the shelf over night shipped quicker and cheaper than paying a machine shop to do one single barrel. I don't mean to seem negative, quality machine work is expensive where I'm from. And AR parts are everywhere at every quality level.

I wasn't clear. By quick turn I meant turn time for threading a non threaded barrel for a suppressor. This is for a can on a known shooter. Someone here a few years back told about someone and I used them on something else and I was pleased. Problem is I remember neither person. A replacement Shilen with bolt from Midway (what I got years ago) is 489.99.

class3machining.com/When it comes to fast cheap and good reviews this is what usually comes up. Lots of reviews on the Texas hunting forum for them, all good as far as I’ve seen.

Here's Morgan's response. That's on a Saturday.
"If only threading it’s 80 if loose barrel, 125 if it’s in upper and not shortening or crowning.
Then just include a scannable prepaid return label, most people use pirateship.com it’s cheap and easy
5-7 business day turnaround"

I've had ADCO (adcofirearms.com) do this too. Similar time/money required for services rendered.

Well, thanks for the thread, squawberryman.
I just inquired with the first company via e-mail to see about having two Contender Carbine barrels threaded, maybe a third if I decide to commit a frame to a stamp for a SBR. Since I started using a can on my 357 Mag carbine, I'm really enjoying the reduced noise, even for super-sonic stuff.
