I just dropped by a Scheels in South Dakota and they had one of these on the rack. I don't pick up a lot of rifles and say I really want this. It's made really well, the fit and finish is really nice and that's saying a lot in today's market where most stuff is getting cheaper in appearance. The only thing I could really knock was the fact that the fore end had a little wiggle to it. Other than that it's a really nice rifle. If they had one in 357 mag it would have been hard to walk away from it.
Slap a Skinner peep sight on it, delete the safety and it would be on point for me.

I had the opportunity to shoot the new 336 and the 1894 in 44 Mag at the annual POMA conference last June. Both rifles were smooth, accurate and fun to shoot. In talking with the Ruger guys the 44 was first up, next will 357/38, and then 45 Colt.
The 336 has a 350 Legend or 360 Buckhammer in it's future as well.

Looked over one of the new 336's today. Appears to have better quality than I have seen in a Marlin in many years.

I sure hope they make them in .41 magnum. One in .45 Colt would be cool too.

I too, would like to see one of these in 41 magnum. The local Scheels has three of the new Marlins, two in 44 magnum and a 30-30 and all are fit and finished very well. I can’t work the action on these as they are zip tied closed, but if the action is anywhere as nice as the fit and finish these will be excellent guns. Price tag is about $1150 on each but there’s one dealer in town who has a 44 magnum for $920 cash and I am shocked it is still available.

Yep, .41 would be cool. My local shop has a .44 Mag in stock and it feels great in my hands and the actions is smooth. However, the front sight is very slightly canted left and the rear is noticeably drifted right in the dovetail about 1/8.” Not really sure if it would be a major issue, especially if one were to mount a scope, but I decided not to take a gamble. Six weeks later, it’s still there.

Picked mine up 2 weeks ago locally for $999. marked down 15%. Fit and finish are excellent, the action is smooth and strong feeling. Have yet to shoot it. I'm planning on a "Brian Pearce" barrel break in.

I would love to see a stainless 414 Super Mag and or a stainless 445 Super Mag lever gun with a 16-18" barrel and full length mag tube and make them with a 1:14 twist and threaded muzzle. And top them off with a synthetic stock and forend, I think either would make a great brush/hog gun.
