What weight do they drop at? Looks like I'll have to find a second hand one.

Thank you Wayne! The bullet from the Accurate mold looks pretty close, a bigger lube groove for shooting black powder loads, but the nose looks very close, and I can get it in a 3 or 4 cavity set of blocks.

www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0004482306/double-cavity-cowboy-action-mould-number-40-180-cm-40-caliber-point401-180-grainThis bullet is poured from wheel weights and has been sized .401 and lubed with Alox. I started using it in my 40 S&Ws even with the crimp groove, I just do a taper crimp and it has been working OK for me. Seems to feed just fine. I'm sure it is actually made for a revolver but I picked the mold up at an estate sale cheap and decided to try it in my 40s. Sorry for the orientation of the photo, haven't completely figured out the whole attachment thing yet. It has a nice big meplat which might be nice for hunting.

I just got an MP mold for .38-40. It's a 4 cavity that throughs a 180 or 185 gr hollow point and 190 gr flat point. It is a traditional looking RNFP.

The Accurate 40-180C is my favorite for smokeless powder. Works great in rifles or sixguns. For blackpowder I generally shoot the old lyman bullet.

Shot at 60 yards today with the NOE bullet and it shot well enough for me to take jackrabbits at that distance.
