I'm not sure why, but I just love the older era Taurus revolvers and I've never had a good opportunity to own one till my buddy got one traded into his shop. Aside from the honest holster wear, which looks like it lived there a lot, the gun itself barely seemed fired at all. I didn't have a holster for it, so I made one. I really like the gun a lot, going to be fun to shoot. Hopefully I find some others willing to part with theirs in the future! For Axe, his favorite alignment crane shot.

My first handgun purchase in 1990, I was at age 21,, ordered a 6" barreled version of the 66 and paid $219.00 for it. I would shoot it in the fields of my brother's farm, the gun was robust.... 3 years later I foolishly let a friend talk me into selling it to him and I have regretted that decision ever since. The grip edges were more rounded on mine.

One of those was the first new handgun I ever bought. The trigger job on it was the first one I ever did too! Turned out a really nice shooter, but I traded it for an Astra 44 magnum after a few years. Guy I swapped with still has it, and it's still a great shooter.

I also had a 6". It was an excellent gun.
Think you made a score at the right price.

I have a Taurus 856UL. Replaces the old Colt Cobra that is tired and worn. Shoots well. Smith and Wesson is asleep at the switch or doesn't want to pursue revolvers anymore? A D frame size six shot 38+p just does it for me as a Fudd gun. Bought the Taurus before the Kimber K6xs came out. I also have the Kimber and both are good shooters. But Taurus as a company has a checkered past but their revolvers are innovative.
