I hate that I missed the boar hunt, but it was great to share a couple of evenings of story telling with you James.

James like's to use those "2 step" bullets, plus he thinks everyone else has an accent Dick

In the bushes all boars look heavier; till you start dragging them then they REALLY grow. I have killed hogs every way imaginable to me. I have even caught one by hand, dragged it to a pond and drowned it. Except with a piece of angle iron. I havent done that one yet. Congratulations on a fine boar!

Kept a tally book for a year some years ago; 238 shot by me. Doesn't count trapped hogs or hogs killed by other family members. Just what was shot by me. Haven't had a terrible hog problem since.
During the year of 238 hogs, I had a Winchester M70 in 223 Rem. Sow ran across the road and I popped 4 out of 5 piglets and was out of ammo. The sow came back to find her babies. She saw me and wanted a piece of me. Now I was around 18 years younger and when she came for me I grabbed her by the back legs, dragged her into a pond and sat on her till she quit moving. Yeah, I have had some wild encounters with hogs, including trying to catch a litter of piglets in a muddy field with a fishing dip net. Looked like Keystone Cops as those little buggers out ran me and my mother trying to chase them. Finally got them and bottle fed them till they were big enough to butcher. Broke me of trying to fatten a wild hog for slaughter.

Very nice James! That is a textbook mushroomed bullet. Randy, I was impressed with the expasion as this was the first recovered bullet after three animals. Hornady did their homework on this one. On elk size game I would wait for the classic side shot only, but for medium, almost any angle will do using the 460 S&W.....target shows final two sight-in shots at 110 yards using this ammunition....
