This thing looks intriguing and I was wondering if anyone has any firsthand knowledge/experience with its performance ranging from handguns to rifles. Yes, it’s pricey, but it sure seems easy to use and it’s quite portable.

About the price of labradar if you buy the tripod and accessories. I heard of it for the first time yesterday. My friends all shoot PRS and they were looking it up. Seems like snipershide forum has most info.

I’ve been running and testing one for a few months. It’s much better than my LabRadar. You can fit about 15 on a LabRadar. That’s how small it is. It never has missed a shot and it hasn’t picked up other shooters. I gave my LabRadar to my brother. Garmin knocked it out of the park on this one, it will kill the LabRadar business if you want my honest opinion. It was tested against the Applied Ballistics Doppler a few months back and was spot on. Most impressive piece of equipment for the shooter that I’ve seen come along in a while. We have run it on suppressed rifles as well. No missed shots. The portability and accuracy is awesome. Area 419 is making a mount to put on an arca rail for your gun. Not my cup of tea but it’s an option. For shooting handgun etc, you will love it.

Went and took a couple pics to really show the size. I’m sure the boxes for the production units will be fancier but this is an idea of size and how easily it will go together and be ready to run. If I get out this weekend, I’ll film it if I can.

The phone app is better than LabRadar as well. They just had a new update on it a couple weeks ago. Much more intuitive that the LR version. I had issues connecting one day but I think the new update is a fix for that. Some guys had zero issues. I think it’s a phone thing sometimes though. Little demons 🤣 you will love it. A buddy of mine is one of the group guys that has been working on this for a couple years or so now. They have poured their hearts into this project. I’m so glad to see them get it out to market. It’s going to be a game changer!

Just gotta wait for the gear fund to recharge. Sometimes I feel guilty about upgrading just for convenience, but if this can stay in my shooting bag 24/7 then I'll be able to use it all those times I didn't think I'd need to. I think it's a game changer to always be able to measure something anytime at any range. One question, does this record multiple velocities at different distances so you can measure drag? Trying to understand if I'd need to keep the old LabRadar around for that. I admit I don't use that feature often, but it's been very useful a few times. Looks like the Garmin can connect directly to a computers so I'm hoping I can download information from it that way. If not now, then after a software update. I hate to be so pessimistic but I do worry about all shooting related phone apps being pulled from App Stores so I don't like needing to rely on an app. Directly copying shot records is another one of those things that seems like a "nice to have" until the first time you catch a transposed number in what you wrote down by hand. At least that's been my experience. I'm really happy to see this next generation of doppler chronographs come out!

I've got one on the way. I've yet to read a bad review. If its anywhere close to what people are claiming LabRadar is done. They sat on their heels for 10 years and never improved their product despite there being issues.

At least that's been my experience. I'm really happy to see this next generation of doppler chronographs come out! I think it’s just at the muzzle right now. I never used that function on the LR anyway. Half the time it would tell me it was faster farther out than it was closer. Never made sense to me. For handguns, none of that matters to me. For rifles, I have custom curves I’ve shot across Applied ballistics radar and if you don’t have that, they have a ton of custom curves for popular bullets. It does it all for you and is really really close at long distances. I haven’t pulled anything off the unit to a computer. Not much time to shoot lately

Thanks Zeus! I was talking with some other folks online, and almost nobody uses that function of the LabRadar. Not only that, but there's a lot of confusion about how it works. The LabRadar really should have been sold with an SD card in it, and a cellphone charger instead of space for AA's. I'm a big fan of the LabRadar. Full disclosure I use it for big and slow handgun bullets, so I probably get better results than the rifle crowd. But have to agree with the complaints that Infinition kept selling the same 1.0 product with no changes for years. I hope the Garmin Xero C1 gives them the kick in the butt they apparently need to get moving. Everyone wins when there's a contest to make better stuff.

My Garmin should be here Monday. Cabelas listed they had them. I cancelled my original backorder through garmin. I must have got the last one because right after my order completed the site changed to out of stock. Something shipped so I guess they actually had it.
