Using the wet coat method, I actually see the lead exposed inside the hollow point. Depending on not over coating the bullets,( by using too much powder) but that comes with practice. As the powder creates a hard plastic type coating, but leaving a little exposed inside the hollow point, I believe helps the bullet to open up quicker. I literally only have to shake the bucket once or twice, and swirl about 10 times, and there coated nicely. Much less than getting friction to do the work. I prefer the wet method, but everyone likes something different.

That's one thing about the shake & bake method with a small HP style. You want to give it a good shake to get all of the residual powder out of the cavity so you don't plug it off. Just giving them a good shake is all it takes & it's not a problem doing that, you're not going to take the powder off of your bullets.

Randy, Here’s one of Dick’s .41 HP’s that dressed out at 210 grains. It was from a 6” M57 and pushed with 17 grains of 2400. It was under the hide of offside of a whitetail that was slightly quartering to me. I’m really like the results of cast hollow points and will be using much more in the future.

I recently receive some .41 250’s from Dick - plan to test them from my 6” Blackhawk this season. Dick and Mark Hampton swear by them.

This is the entry hole from the above bullet… I’ve also taken a few deer with his .430 250 Penta HP - they’re wicked on whitetail!

Then just go with the same bullet but a cup point ( slight hp) or flat nose for bigger critters. The impact would concussion (8” dinner plate size) on my recent Elk with these bullets and the light cup point is phenomenal.
