Ok, showing my ignorance here. Can someone tell me about Seville revolvers? I have never seen one in person. How would you rate them against an early well made ruger, or even an Uberti. (2 brands I own and love)
Thank you from a neophyte trying to learn. Brant

Any of the United Sporting Arms companies several iterations produced fine sixguns; Abilene, Seville, and EL Dorado.
Of my personal USA revolvers, I have found all 3 models excellent. Many have stated a preference for the Window Rock versions, but I have yet to find one. Some folks don't care for the Idaho models which were assembled from parts when a new company bought out USA. I enjoy all of the ones from Sig Hilman's Tucson operations. Original models I believe came from Hauppauge,NY, and Riverhead.
The models in order of price (quality?) are usually EL Dorado, Seville, and Abilene. I started accumulating a few about 10 years ago and was paying from $300 up to $800 (undiscovered). They are now 2X or 3X that price (discovered). I believe they are beautifully made and can shoot small groups at distance. The downside is spare parts are hard to impossible to find.
Their models in 357 Maximum are my particular favorites, but my Abilene 44mag is also a great shooter.
I find them very similar to Ruger. Sig is reported to have settled a patent issue over the safety with Bill Ruger, Sr.
Any particular questions you might have?
Prescut I believe our host Lee, has written an extensive history on the company located somewhere on this site.

Here are my Riverhead Abilenes. I've only shot the blued one, so far.

Big, strong beautiful guns. But they have a few little, breakable parts that are pretty much unobtanium.

A couple of months ago I had a transfer bar break on a 357 Abeline. I ended up fitting a Ruger part to it. It took a little stoning and fileing, but it works. I have a stainless 357 Max Seville and two blued 357 mag Abelines. They are all very well made. The Stainless 357 Max has to be the smoothest revolver I have ever experienced. The parts glide like oiled glass.

I think it's Blowing Rock instead of Window Rock. This is Contender's field more than mine.

Let me just say that I have a great fondness for Ruger revolvers and have owned a couple of Uberti's as well. But, comparing them to a Seville is like comparing a Cadillac to a Chevy. The fit, finish and smoothness of the Seville is a cut above. The only single action that I would rate as being of higher quality than the Seville would be a Freedom Arms which is light years ahead in quality (compared to the Ruger and Uberti's) although the cost is also astronomical. I bought my Seville to shoot Silhouette in 357 Maxi after having owned a Ruger and Dan Wesson. It never failed me and still shoots as well and accurately as when I first got it.

Sorry, guys.
It was me that guessed Window Rock. At least I remembered the Rock part correctly.
Now I'm wondering if I got the part about Chimney Rock being the best examples of the USA's?

You know, I think it was Contender that got me leaning toward Chimney Rock sixguns as the best of the bunch. I've looked for several years and haven't found one to take home. I'm still looking Prescut
