Loading information from hogden powder tech emailed to me cfe pistol powder. For 44 magnum 300 grain xtp 7.6 grain s of powder 862 fps starting load and 8.7 grains at 987.
My question is what would be starting load with a 300 grain hollow point cast bullet to get around same speeds but not really over safely? Want to be around 850 to 950 ish out of a 5 in barrel.

Seems like you should already know where to go for the information that you seek - straight to the manufacturer. I think there was a thread on here a week or so ago bemoaning the lack of cast bullet load data with CFE Pistol powder.

This is not quite on target, but it might be somewhat useful? I really like CFE Pistol in my 41 Mag as well.

CFE pistol seems to be a pretty versatile powder in several calibers, I'm going to have to give it a try. I think that if you start at the low end, 7.6 grs with your 300 gr cast bullet you should be on safe ground although you will have to take into account the nose to crimp length could be different. Good luck with your new load.
