I have a Ruger SBH that I want to have converted to 500 Linebaugh by Huntington. Problem is he never answers e mails and I almost always have to try and contact him at strange hours. Question is, what would a conversion cost with no bells and whistles. I want to keep the SBH gripframe also. The gun is blue and I dont care what finish it ends up with. Cost and turn around time?

I tried to contact him by e-mail and was told by a member of this board that hes not much for the computer. I called and he answered the first time. I have called him a few times all where in the afternoon between 3 and 7 pm eastern and only once he wasnt there but called right back. As far as cost I dont know, but I would wager it would be very reasonable. The grip frame and octagon barrel he did for me took 4 and a half months and he apologized for it taking so long. Sorry I know its not exactly what you where looking for but hopefully you can get an idea.

Thanks Rigby. I've seen some of Huntington's work and have been wanting a 500 Linebaugh for some time. I'll try calling during the times you listed.

his base price is listed on his website. www.jrhgunmaker.com/$1300 and goes up from there for a 5 shot ruger. To the best of my knowledge, he has never seen one of my emails, even the ones he asked me to send him. He has called me in relation to a project as late as 10 pm central time. My maximum took about a year, my midframe .41 was two months. If you like SBH grip frames and are ambivalent about the finish, look at getting a BFR and having it rechambered. A new barrel and rechambering the exisitng cylinder only runs $475. (same as an FA).

Huntington's work is outstanding. When I first tried to contact him he never replied to my emails. The best way to get a hold of him is by phone. I had him work on a Redhawk for me a while back; action job, jeweled hammer/trigger, velvet hone finish, and install a Freedom Arms front site base. His work is outstanding and cost is very reasonable compaired to what others are charging.
