Any updates? I've handled many of double stack 10mms and the S&W still feels best in my somewhat small hands.

I can say that I would not take a Smith is it was given to me......unless it is a Smith from before say 2008 time frame. Part of my issue is personal, which was the start of my dislike. Then it turned into professionally after being a Smith certified armorer on M&P handguns as well as rifle. Complete garbage......lack of quality control from factory.....so much stuff, and simple stuff at that, to where firearms should not have left the shop. We had several rifles, brand new, where barrels were completely loose.....gas rings wore out in a couple hundred rounds (extremely rough bolt carrier groups wearing rings out) and we were going to have to send 30 brand new handguns back for various issues (led to handguns being not functional) but the Smith rep had us armorers perform gunsmith level alterations. Unacceptable!!!

I have seen issues with S&W, i.e. barrel misalignment, sights off center, forcing cone problems, rough/un honed chambers etc. This isn’t just a quality control problem with S&W but Ruger, Colt, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Remington have all had q.c. problems. With increased demand over the past few years for all firearms along with increased production lack of skilled labor/labor force every company in the industry has suffered and so has the consumer. It’s a sign of the times. It’s not just that though……but everything it seems like.
