I have the Pachmyers on my 500L Redhawk. It is still pretty rough if I start loading it to its potential, but 355-435gr bullets at 1000fps are fun.

With 400’s at 1200-1300, the only difference in recoil between my SRH 500L and my Bisquero 500L is the base of my thumb takes more impact with the DA gun. However, since I got the DA gun as a “get off me” gun, loads of that power are not easily handled with one hand. Also, since in those situations range will be measured in feet and inches, I was more concerned with controllability. Accuracy with 400-450’s at 1000fps has proven more than adequate out to my max iron sight distance of 75-85 yards.

Squawberry, is that a Redhawk or SRH??? I would be curious as to the effect of the grip when fired from a 500L.

Yessir, Andy Horvath. He's gonna do my 10mm GP100 from David also. Trigger stop was only a bit more. It’s good looking that’s for sure. I debated taking a file to my hammer to knock the corners down but didn’t have the guts, but I like the way yours came out a lot. I wish Bowen would do trigger stops again, I have debated picking up a used rh anaconda with one installed and selling mine. |

I wish Bowen would do trigger stops again, I have debated picking up a used rh anaconda with one installed and selling mine. I had an SP101 with a SHARP hammer. Easy to fix with a file and sandpaper. If you’re not planning a full re-shape you’ll be fine doing it at home. Easy to do right, hard to mess up. |

Good snag! A 500 DA is on my “want” list and I’m sure it’ll be even better once you’re done with it. As for grips, I like Nill but 360 grains at H110 speeds are rough so I’m no help on a 500. The Nil grips are hard to find anymore... I have a set I was "smoothing" down and got a little zealous and kinda buggered them. They work great but.... |

I have a set of snakewood Fishpaw grips on my Bowen convertible .50 special/ .500 Linebaugh. BUT I only shoot .50 special throughit. I save my .500 for a Bowen Bisley I have. Here is a pic of mine still up on Hallowells site where I got it from a couple years back. I figure Bowen put .50 special on the barrel so I would just shoot that and save the .500 cylinder for my kids to sell off when I am gone. Just sent it back to Hamilton for some action work/longer firing pin. He is almost done and about to send back he noted that "May be the first L-frame barrel gun we did. Grips are dated 1990. They have darkened a good deal with age...."  |

Ha just because I need another MOA doesn’t mean I want to get rid of a righteous revolver. I mean I did get a sweet Hi-Power off of bushog but it is unlikely to go anywhere ever either. Damn thing is dead on at 7 and 12 yards but high at 25/50/100. I’ll figure it out eventually though. At least the bowen has adjustable sights, I better keep it too.
