SSK-50 Flatside Frame...

Not a lot of new information, but to avoid hijacking another thread...

Picked up my second SSK-50 Frame, this one a Flatside.

A matter of personal preference, but I believe this option will be "The One."

It can be left very plain and simply attractive as it comes or engraved to suit each individual's preference.

The fit and finish on these exceeds any of my previous Frames. It simply has to be experienced to be appreciated.

The question I've been asked the most is if current production SSK Barrels fit. I've only got two current production Barrels, but YES, they fit and lock up rock solid...

In my 45 +/- Years of shooting Contenders, the 30-30 Ackley Improved still gets my nod for the single best medium game cartridge. That's simply an opinion and personal preference.

I think this action might be my choice on a Full SSK Contender.

It'll push a 150 grn SST to 2400 fps. Hard to top it for deer sized game...

i also have the flat side ssk-50 been looking at the 360 buckhammer though. i do think the 30/30 is one of the best cartridge in the contender.
