Added Dawson sights and played with it a bit.

Didn't realize how bad it shot until I pulled out my Stainless LW Kimber 9mm. Planning a barrel upgrade now...

Thinking I'll strap the little beast into the Ransom Rest to quantify the improvement. kartbarrel.com/

That looks like a New York Fusion? Ramped barrel or not?

I have heard e d mixed things about Fusion. Never handled one so no personal experience. I hope a new barrel helps the accuracy.

Bummer, I’ve handled a few and they looked nice. New barrel fitted well should cure.

Barrel is NOT ramped... Frame is marked Florida. Looks good, they stopped using ramped frame / barrels when they moved to Florida. Mine is N.Y made in .40/.357 Sig.

Slug the bore first. 9mm barrels run .355-.358.

This will be interesting, knowing Stan is an experienced shooter I'm sure he's already done all of the normal things to try & sort this out.

Some dogs just won't hunt :-) I'm not a one hole target shooter but in my experience I haven't found 1911's in 9mm to be particularly accurate, but depending on how bad it shoots if available I'd try another barrel, link and bushing, I think it's worth the trouble it to save it.

This Fusion's fit and finish definitely shows evidence of the Dan Wesson roots. IMHO a ramped barrel is not needed in a steel frame 1911. Alloy frame yes. Steel frame no.. Accuracy wise a properly built 9mm will shoot. The trick from a bullseye prospective is they aren't used as centerfire guns because they must be loaded to the recoil level of a 45 wadcutter gun to be accurate. Unlike the 38 Super that can be loaded pretty light and be X ring accurate.. Loading to the recoil level of the 45 kills the 9mm advantage over the 45. A .451 45 ACP makes those close shots while the .355 9mm just doesn't quite get there.
Now the trick... Rebarrel is $700. Not just dropping in an EZ fit barrel and bushing but a proper barrel (KKM) and fitting by a nationally recognized bullseye pistol builder.

Axe, maybe I can offer another tack before going the $700 route? I have a brand new Colt barrel (removed to mod mine to a super) with a surprisingly tight bushing and link that you can goof around with replacing the link and bushing on which just may point out whether the bbl in the Fusion was just burnt out or poorly made?
You could send it back to me when you're done trying to debug your Fusion?
