I recently picked up a K38 with the intention of shooting it in Action Pistol matches. Unfortunately, it will not accept any of my speedloaders. All of my other K frames work just fine with all of my various speedloaders. I tried to measure the space between the charge holes and the outside diameter of the cylinder. I am unable to reliably get a number with my calipers and ability, but I can definitely say that the charge holes of the K38 are closer together than the charge holes of my other K frames. The cylinder also seems to be slightly smaller than my model number K frames.
Anyone know anything about this? I have never seen any reference anywhere to a cylinder size change in the K frame guns.
BTW, my K38 is a 4 screw. A friend with a 5 screw tried his after hearing about mine and his also denies a speedloader.
Thanks for reading!

Is the speed loader hanging up on the stocks?
All S&W 38 S&W Special K frames use the same size cylinder. If your speed loader works in one, it should work in all of them.
Remove the stocks and see if it works.

It is not a stock issue, unfortunately.
