Browsing around on Load Data, I noticed several loads for the 358429 all falling into my preferred velocity range from a 4" barrel. Around 1,150fps.
Today I cast a few hundred MP hollow points and Accurate 360-170J bullets. The 170J and the MP 358429 aren't exactly the same. The 170J seats farther out of the case.
I am going to test 5 powders for accuracy and real world velocity from my Service Six 4" and OM 6". My two favorite 357mags. I'll post the results I get here.
The book shows the various loads 4" velocities as:
12.0gr AA#9 1178 7.0gr Universal 1130 7.5gr Power Pistol 1168 15.5gr H110 1151 (my usual load) 15.0gr 4227 1128
Most accurate will become my go to load.

What is the bullet weight on the 358429 mold???

With the alloy from Axman they dropped at 175 from the MP solids and 167hp. I got 172 from the Accurate version.

I ran one of the MP version with two solid pins and two large hp. I used two molds for the Accurate with both molds being exactly the same every way I could measure.

At 160grs and gaschecked, it's not the Keith bullets. It's some other swc design. Probably a 358156 or clone. Plenty of data available for those.

My favorite 150-160 class swc in the magnum or 38sp is the RCBS 38-150KT on #9

I've been using Longshot and rimrock`s version of the 358429 . It weighs 173 grains. 7.5 grains of longshot gave a average of 1152 fps from a 4 inch model 13 with a extreme spread of 13 for 12 shots. I usually load a little hotter for rugers.

If a standard book magnum load isn't enough, I use the BFR or 353. I have a couple maximums, too. Haven't tried Longshot yet, but plan to.

I have been considering a six series gun but I do not know much about them . Is the cylinder long enough for the 358429 in mag brass ? My 50th anniversary flat top is not.

All of mine are, but it's close. The Accurate 360-170J is a Keith clone except it seats . 015" farther out making it dead flush with my shortest cylindered one, a Speed Six
