I pick up a new to me 7.5 inch NM-45 Colt tomorrow. I ordered more Brass from Midway. I have a 5.5 inch already as well as a 1930 New service. 1st thing is to pin Guage the Cylinder and if need be send it and a check to fermin. Then it's time to shoot. I am thinking hard cast SWCs in the 275 more or less at 1000 fps and maybe a few at 1200 just cause I can.I have 4227. There is a good gun show coming in a week or 2. I might try an swap the 5.5 for a 4 5/8s. Does anyone make Nickle brass in 45 Colt ? I would like to use it so the Nickle would be for the old Colt. Just for an added layer of safety. I ordered two red plastic load boxes for the warm stuff. Anybody have any advice for me.? ...tj

REMINGTON MAKES OR MADE NICKELED 45 COLT BRASS. I DO NOT CARE FOR ANY REMINGTON 45 COLT BRASS.
STARLINE MAKES NICKELED 45 COLT BRASS, GOOD STUFF.

I've used Starline extensively in 45 Colt. Gets brittle after about 10 reloads, but to be fair that is shooting the same brass in 3 different revolvers with different chamber geometry. Some stretch more than others, and the nickel gets worked pretty hard in resizing.

I use Starline nickel brass to distinguish hot loads, too. But they're not listening any available in any cartridges right now.
Federal brass is pretty good but good luck finding any nickel.

Maybe I will trade the old Colt. I know of a cool 32 HnR SS-6 That would be nice to have...

Before I touch a new gun to modify, I say to myself "shoot first, ask questions later"
As it happens I'd apply this to an intruder in my home also :-)

If you're going to the Portland gun show, then keep an eye out for the nickel-plated 45 Colt brass. There used to be a guy there selling it all the time. That's the only place where I ever bought the nickel Starline brass.
