I have been doing a little hunting this year. I promised my GF I wasn't going to shoot a deer this year and she took that as I wasn't going to hunt much. The pronghorn was from last week in NM on a 255 section ranch south of Moriarty. This is a ranch I built a pipeline across in 1995 and always remembered how big the goats were. I didn't know the hunt was on the same ranch until I showed up in a familiar area. My guide and I walked a little over 10 miles that day and spotted a lot of bucks. I had 4 in my crosshairs and passed before this one. The shot was about 200 yards and he was dead right there. All these animals were shot with my LH 280 REM Blaser R8 with a Gemtech Tracker can. The next one is a scimitar oryx cow from a high fence south Texas ranch that was reducing its breeding population. She measured out just over 40". 225 yard shot off of a Bog Death Grip with temps over 100 degrees. The last one is a broke horn, management Arabian Oryx. This is an uncommon animal on many ranches and I will have the taxidermist fix the horns so i have a nice representative animal of the species on the wall. A trophy Arabian is quite pricey. They have the beautiful warrior markings on their face, like a gemsbok. I am busy with a big pipeline project in south Texas right now and I don't have anything else planned for the year.

I like those flat horned bucks. No need to judge a couple inches at a few hundred yards.
