I bought a 10" inch octagon barrelled blackhawk by Bob Baer. It should get to me from Tyler Gun works next week. I have a 8 3/8 s&w 27-2 but i think this gun is going to dwarf it. I dont think i would need to carry ut but am interested in holster or scabbard type options. I like to have at least one custom holster for each of my single action gunsmith quest collection guns. What do you like for the long barrels. Rob Leahy offers a flap holster based on his Cattleman which is a great holster. The flapjack version of his sourdough is nice as well. The slim jim types are neat especially the old time carved ones. Bianchis frontier gunleather used to do a leather scabbord for handguns that i like but they are not catalog. Appreciate any thoughts. Will post better pics once it arrives.  |

A FINE handgun like that deserves top quality for sure. Contact Mike "Doc" Barranti of Barranti Leather. Discuss your likes, dislikes, and desires & let him work his magic. It may take a while,, but the end result will compliment your gun!

I carry my Ruger 10.5” SRM in a Barranti NW hunter bandoleer rig and really like it. Mine was cut for an optic mount due to having a Leupold base attached. The gun is comfortable and the holster wears well.

It may take a while,, but the end result will compliment your gun! I have a bunch of Docs holsters. My next placeholder order probably be ready after Christmas. Just wondering about other options. I have several other holsters on my Barranti wish list before this one would get one. |

The gun is comfortable and the holster wears well. Trapr  NW hunter rig is great. Im thinking something in between a flap holster and a scabbord. Just thinking of ways to spend money. My wife says researching and shopping is my hobby. The guns and holsters are just by products. |

The only change I would make to mine is having the snap on the retention strap replaced with a stud and slot configuration to avoid inadvertently unsnapping and allow the gun to slip out. I like the black background on the floral carved holster, Doc is doing an oak leaf motif on a Longhorn Companion for me with blackened background. To me it makes the carving “POP”
