Finally a cool rainy day to do some bullet casting

It's 87° this morning. Had planned on casting some 452490 from some of the lead Axman sent, but it's too warm after the long week of working on steam valves. Guess I will just have to take a nap!

Nope, i was wrong! It only took 37 seconds for it to start melting.
It was starting to get gooey as i was putting it in the pot.

50’s last night, it was perfect with the house opened up last night. Got out and powder coated ( with the grey from Airborne101) sized and gas checked while it was still in the 60’s. Got the mowing’ watering etc chores done. Threw a home made single serving pizza in the pizza oven, ( almost 70 out) done for the day, before it gets hot ( probably be 80 or so today!) I’ll give these cup points about 5 days to cure and harden up, then test them in my traps. Hard cast air dropped. Powder coated then water dropped.

It was actually another cool rainy day today. I fired up the pot between a few other projects, 15 pounds of .501/400’s and .475/400’s don’t go all that far, but made up 3 piles of bullets, using sets of points on the Miha molds.
I see more powder coating in my future

While it's still cool this morning, I'm going to cast a pot of 359-640 hp's from some of the lead I got from Axehandle.

It is already too hot to cast outside and the sun isn't fully up yet. Glad you are enjoying the powder!

Also cast some 358429 hp's running both molds. It's getting too warm for more than a potful.

Just to aggravate you guys down south, it got up to a cool 68 today, mostly cloudy, with a cool breeze. PC’d them all with A101 Grey.

Our heat index today was 119 degrees. No casting happening here…

Just set your lead on top of the mold and set it in the sun for a few minutes. Quench with ice.
