I recently sent Zane a brass birds head grip frame and a set of Resin Ivory slabs I bought from David Werthers Guitar Parts. I was hoping to use a set of old ivories I had on hand but the main spring strut seat on the brass frame is in a slightly different location than on my other grip frames so the grip screw interferes with the spring thus the decision to start from scratch so Zane could place the grip screw placement where things would work better. Zane did his usual fantastic job of shaping and installing the grips and now I just need to see if the resin ivory material grows on me enough to rise to the level of real ivory.
