Just got this back from A.Harton. Fluted cylinder .41 Mag Bisley. Barrel shortened to 5 1/2 in. Custom front sight. Elk grips by Patrick Grasshorn. It shoots as good as it looks.

Very nice! Is the grip frame modified at all?

No, the grip frame has not been modified. All original except the front sight, ejector rod housing (steel), cylinder base pin, grips. Alan also cleaned up some damage to the cylinder and polished the throat, action job etc. Also, that front sight has a gold bar on it for long distance shooting. By using the gold bar as a reference point I can hit rocks at 275 yards. (or at least scare the heck out of them) ;D

There is something just right about a #5 front sight on a 5 1/2" barreled gun. I may have the front sight redone on my 5 1/2" 44sp Bisley Flat Top into the #5 style sight. Like I said it s just right for that gun...

good looking 41. Looks like Alan may have fired blued the pins and the base pin latch while he was at it. If not, the picture is tricky but if he did, he did a great job with the subtle color change....GS

Looking good. How will the collectors on the RF react when they see a fluted .41 Bisley modded... good looking 41. Looks like Alan may have fired blued the pins and the base pin latch while he was at it. If not, the picture is tricky but if he did, he did a great job with the subtle color change....GS Just a note - Alan recommended against fire bluing the pins etc on my 1.4" .41 . He did, however, offer the alternative of hot blue and some time in the heat treat oven to give a lighter color. We might see it this week.

Yes, I asked Alan how he felt about modifying a somewhat rare specimen. He said "It is still a modern gun and you will enjoy it more when you make it the way you want it". I agree.

Looks great. Looks like a few new 401 and 400 cal guns picked up in the last year.
I might have picked up a few more for the "40/41 Phreaks" gallery. Just looked and its been almost a year since that thread was started.
