I picked this Bowen conversion up about a month ago and thought I'd share some Friday pics..... Nothing too out of the ordinary with this one. I had always wanted to commission this build but seemed to always have something more pressing at hand. It's an OM .44 flat top that has been converted to .45 Colt with the original 6 1/2" length barrel. Sort of a "sleeper" custom. The action is really nice and tight for an OM gun and the case coloring makes it just fancy enough. I was going through my parts tub and happened across a pair of nice stag grips Roy Fishpaw made that I think I bought off the Ruger Forum a while back. They fit really well so they've now found a home. It's a really nice gun with just a little bling... I might drop a Clements bisley spur hammer in it in time.    The sign...  |

That is very nice looking and classy as well. I have one very similar to it that Bowen built but he used a Ruger 7.5” barrel. I later had Scott Kolar fit French walnut grips to it. I bought it when Bowen used to have custom builds in stock or just about ready to be finished. You all remember those days? It’s been awhile since I’ve seen builds available for sale on his website.

I had a Bowen build 45 Colt on an OMBH. Long barrel. All the trimmings. Gone now. I think either bushog or kings6 may know the details. Liked the gun, but got caught up in the down sizing.
