I ordered an Encore barrel in 6 x 45MM recently from MGM barrels, I have bought other standard cartridge barrels in the past from them, but this will be my first Wildcat cartridge although it is so simple to make I almost can't see calling it a Wildcat cartridge. I am curious if anyone else loads for it & if so what kind of rifle do you have? I bought dies for it years ago & was going to have Shaw Custom barrels make me a left-hand Savage bolt rifle for it, but decided the wait was too long, so now ten or more years later I am going to wait a few months for an Encore barrel but I have found as I get older that waiting & planning can be half the fun!

I load 6x45. I mostly use TAC and Xterminator.
What twist rate is your barrel? Mine is a Bartlien 1:10" 5R. I shoot a lot of 60-70gr flat base, tangent ogive bullets. I like the Bergers but also shoot lots of Barnes Match Burners.
My hunting load is a Sierra Blitzking 85gr. I shoot deer in the neck with great success.
6x45 is just one of those chamberings where everything you try works well (within the stabilization range of your twist rate). Charge weight hasn't had a huge effect on accuracy for me and neither has OAL. I find flat base bullets to not be finicky at all.
My rifle is based on an Impact action in a Foundation stock.

I have a Kimber Model 84 single shot heavy barrel in 6 x 45. Haven’t hunted with. Just paper punching. Powders mostly H-322 and Benchrest. Bullets 60-65 grain. Dies from Redding.

To me the benefit of 6x45 is that I can use 223/5.56 brass which seems to be worthless. Just use my 6x45 sizing die instead of 223. No additional steps required.

The Encore barrel I ordered is going to be 1 in 10 twist. MGM barrels said that was best for 70-90 grain bullets so that's what I ordered. As far as brass, I just bought 250 Starline 223 as I thought I would start with new, I do not believe I have ever paid for 223 brass before as I can pick up all the once-fired I want at the indoor range I shoot at. I use that in my 223 Encore but I spend a good deal of time picking thru it, way off-center flash holes that kind of thing, I am not a great shot or anything but I enjoy shooting and hand-loading a lot so I thought brand new Starline cases would be a good way to start as from Starline they were only $72 bucks for 250 delivered. I love the no-tax & free shipping or at least built-in shipping!! The range brass I pick up is 99% shot out of AR's & those guys shoot the cheapest they can find & understandably so, as everything has gotten so expensive in the last few years.
