Looking toward the SRH as a tool first, the aesthetics improve somewhat adding a scope. Assuming that as the direction one would take with it, there might not be a better Ruger hunting handgun.

Eventually Starline will make another run. I'll buy a thousand to last me probably the rest of my life.

Gary the 480 is a hand loader cartridge as are a number of other worthwhile calibers I have only shot 20 rounds of factory 480 the rest have been hand loaded. Where there is a will there is way. Jess B.

Jess B. Yup, I like the oddball calibers... 9x25, .357 Sig, and .480 but what I will not buy into is a hard to get caliber without a parent cartridge I can form brass from.

Mine has only seen handloads since it came to our house, new.
370 grain RNFP with 8-9 grains of W231, the same 370 with 16-17 grains of H108, or the great 385 grain Mihec hp with 14.5 grains Blue Dot.
With loads in the lower pressure range the brass should last quite awhile.

Already looked this one over. It was really hard not to take home. Maybe I will get lucky and beat you to it!
