I'd love to find a clean one like that!

Never warmed up to the extended frame, but could end up with one strictly for scope use since I don't like how they look either but just can't see like I did decades ago.

Looks nice. Forcing come looks proper and clean. Not sure I'm liking the front sight though. Love the interchangeability of the original plunger-style sight.

I have one with the 9 1/2" barrel in 480 Ruger and it's one of my favorite big bore handguns to shoot!

I just recently picked up a 7.5" SRH in .44 magnum. It is an older model with the interchangeable front sight. With the weight of the gun and the big rubber grips with no backstrap it's a big sweetie to shoot even full house 300 grain Hornadys. I haven't tried the scope or the red dot yet. What I like is you can mount them and not mess with the open sights. One day I would like to try the .480.

I'd love to find a clean one like that! I'd love to find a Toklat. I always hoped Ruger would make a 480 version of the Toklat. I even thought about sending a 7.5" out to have one made but never did.

I'd love to find a Toklat. I always hoped Ruger would make a 480 version of the Toklat. I even thought about sending a 7.5" out to have one made but never did. Funny that. To me the Alaskan is too short and for me the 7 1/2" Super Redhawk is too large.

I'll likely never sell mine. It's just fun to shoot, whether at deer or steel.

I have had a 7 1/2" SRH since 2001 when they first came out. It was my first big bore hand gun. They will never win any beauty contests but are a great tool for launching large heavy bullets for what ever the purpose. I like shooting the 480 better than full house 44 magnums it is just easier to shoot in my opinion. I was fortunate to be able to obtain both barrel lengths of the Bisley 480 the 4 5/8" has become my favorite. If you have not had a chance to shoot a 480 it is worth a try. Jess B.

Jess, it's interesting that you favor the shorter barrel .480, it seems to be the harder one to find. I had my doubts about buying mine but after running it I have to agree it's worth a try.
Long term the.480's larger problem is going to be factory ammo, but thankfully .475 brass is readily chopped to length.
