Sorry, I can't figure out how to make the images on here bigger. I clicked on the pic, & it got big as you'd ever want! Sorry, couldn't resist... Oh BTW, NICE HOGLEG! Kinda' liking the birds head shorty in your other post, too. Bet you're glad you got it back.

Several bullets of mine shot high but I finally found a 260gr that shot a smidge low at 25.....its now my go to bullet for my Vaquero, Blackhawk and Marlin 45 1894. I think it will work in my 45 TC, need to try it again though. All the mentioned guns shoot the same load also.

I have SS 7.5" Version, used to shoot 405 HB BP loads in it. Lotsa fun. Mostly shoot my Midframes now, but still love that hogleg!

Killed a small buck with a 3,3/4" one years ago at 50' Great revolvers. Nice. I have never hunted with a handgun with the exception of squirrel and rabbit with a single six. I am planning to hunt with a Blackhawk this coming season for deer.

Back in the mid 90s I bought a matched pair of Ruger Vaqueros, stainless, short barrels in 45Colt. Think I paid about $270 for each of them and sat on them for a number of years only shooting them occasionally until I discovered cowboy action then they got a work out and still do. The color case and giraffe bone grips on yours is absolutely stunning. If yours shoots anywhere close to as purdy as that gun is you’ve got quite the package there.

Man, that's great to hear! This thread actually inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and buy my first Vaquero.
I bought two, actually. 😊 Both 5.5" barrels.
I haven't gotten a chance to shoot 'em yet, maybe tomorrow.

Nice ones John! I can say I have a Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt,, that if I were to take it back to Idaho,, a certain member,, sixshot,, is likely to mug me for it. He fired a very nice group with it,, and WANTS it. I just wanted another good shooter to confirm my initial issue. It WAS shooting "low & left." That has been corrected. I'll have to see if I can dig up the picture of the group sixshot fired with it. Ahh,, I found it.
