I've used 6.0 of Green Dot with that bullet in my Ubertis. Not quite max, but very pleasant to shoot. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

May not be what you are looking for because these is deep seated and crimped over the front drive band so they would chamber in FA97. Chronoed a little over 900 fps in the 4 1/4" FA97 - never chronographed in the FA83. Pressure is most likely over SAAMI specs but probably less than full on "Ruger Only" . FA97 50 yds rested . . FA83 25 yds rested .

Maybe my favorite bullet for 45 colt. Shoots great in all my guns. This data from Brian Pearce 2007 article about this bullet.

I saw SAA in your title and gave you a light load. I should've read the part about Ruger-only and TC Contender. Some good options posted above from Handloader. -Lee www.singleactions.com "Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

The standard pressure loads are great in 45 colt. The most accurate load I've ever used in 45 colt is this bullet with 6 grains of Red Dot. All my guns seem to shoot it well and several of them make me look a lot better as a shooter than I deserve.

I can scan you over a copy of Handloader #246 if you want?
I shoot the medium hollowpoint MP version, powdercoated and deep seated over 11.5 HS6 and a federal match primer. Makes around 1,030 fps in my 5.5” Bisley. Have shot many sub 1” 3 shot groups at 50 yards with it, I love it!

I've contemplated deep seating but have not done it. I'm estimating your load as max? Brian Pearce calls 12- 13.5 grains at mid pressure levels crimped in the groove. I shoot MP solid. Weighs 289g avg. Powder coating is the way to go in my opinion.

I've got the RCBS mold and I usually run that bullet with 12.5 HS6. It's a darn good load.

Totally fell in love with powdercoating, have tried the same load with 50/50 beeswax/moly chassis lube and just didn't seem to shoot as tight. Might be too much of a softer lubricant? It shot so well right off I haven't really experimented

I see lots of it and in fact I bought a big jug of it a few weeks back as I like to shoot it in my Winchester 1901 10g.

I use the 19grs of #9 in my 4-5/8's Blackhawk for 1075fps. It's a good hog hammer.
