Has me wanting another. I have always like K frame Smiths. Ashamed to say I only Own 3 Smith & Wesson Revolvers. All K frames. One of my best Carry guns is a model 66-4 3 inch. A gun that has made a much better shot out om me is my 6 inch 1948 K-22 Masterpiece. I was hitting empty shotgun shells at 15 strides this morning. I don't know hard that is, for you guys, but I get a charge out of it. Then I pulled out my 4 inch 1958 Model 19-no dash. And put up a paper target. Backed off 20 paces And got a big ragged hole in the paper pretty quick. There were a few holes 4 or 5 inches away from the cluster, so I still have work to do. I just Cant help but wonder how much better I would do with a 6 inch. Only one way to find out! ...tj

That’s funny, I always think about having a 4” put on my 19-5 (currently a 6”)
they shoot!

In this age of plastic pistols, nice old S&W revolvers shine.
I confess that I have migrated to plastic-at least with 9mm SD pistols-a Glock 43 and 19.
I recently purchased a 1946-1948 K-22. It really is a Masterpiece!
Enjoy!

It is really hard to beat a good 19. My preferred barrel length on them is 4".

I now have a scope on my model 19 and it can shoot better than me. It's a joy just to hold and shoot that beauty.
As my eyes continue to go south, I'm still dancing with the help of that scope.

I agree with RWT, these guns are an Oasis in a desert of black plastic with no personality.
It's good to see these brought out and shot!!!

The K frame Smiths fit my hands better than any other d.a. revolver and the six inch barrels are always more accurate for me than the four inchers.

Plastic auto pistols are like helping my neighbor clean up after a bad storm.
Shooting a nice revolver is like working on a motorcycle with my son.

I had a Model 19 for a little while, shooting .357 Mag through it felt like abuse of the poor little thing. It was a nickel gun and a friend who is former L.E. wanted it, so at least I know where it is. When/if I replace it, the K-frame will be chambered in .38Spl.

I feel ya, I always load down some for use in a K frame 357. Just prolongs the life. The factory Target grips on mine are a tad large for my preferences, but they're too nice to change. Now my Security Six, that's my full power DA .357 i agree with the other poster that felt the 6" 19 was more accurate, but I prefer the 4" for packing.

My favorite double action gun I own is a 2 1/2" 19, it just works for me. I generally feed it a stead diet of mid range 38sp ammo but it has all the capabilities I could ask of a gun like it, I have shot a few Buffalo Bore Outdoorman 180gr loads in it, it becomes a handful but still manageable to do if I want the power on a trail. Not a load that it will see regularly but 158gr Keith style bullet at 1200fps is a fun load as well...

My first .357 was a Dan Wesson, plenty big for the cartridge, and a Python, Ruger Service Six and Speed Six (I think this last one was in .38Spl) rounded out the guns that felt up to regular use with the Magnums. For barrels, a 6" is ideal to my view for full power loadings, and what I'd look for if shopping again.
