Longshot in the 41 mag.

I think I will try longshot in my 41mags.
  There is a load on Load data .com showing 9 grain pushing a 245 grain cast at 1208, while 10 grains Show 1293.
I think that 9 grain Load is plenty potent already. I have 2 old Models, I don't really need to baby them, But they are plow handles, and my other 2 are a Bisley and a Redhawk, If I want to push things, I can leave the old models home. 
   Yep that's what I will do, Load 9 grains of longshot into the 100 cases I resized and beveled this morning. And take all four revolvers up to the mountain Sunday!

One of my .41 mag loads uses Longshot behind and HG258 cast mold. Shoots exceptionally well.

10.5 gr under a 210 SWC @ 1.607" gives me one ragged hole for a cylinder at 20 yds in my 4-5/8" Blackhawk.
I tried 9.5 and 10.0 first, but the groups just kept getting tighter with each half grain of Longshot.

We found it to be great in a friends 10mm's. Think it would also be a good 3/4 throttle powder for the 41's. So not surprised here.

Yep….Longshot here as well. I use 10gr under a 210gr plated . I use a lot of Longshot. Usually 10gr to build midrange loads in 44mag, 460Rowland, 480ruger and a few others though 10gr in my 1911 460Rowland under a 230gr xtp gives me 1190fps in a 5” colt.

9 grains of Longshot under the 240 grain Bullet, is good.
Easy shooting out of my Redhawk. Less recoil than a skeeter load. They shot high with my 4 5/8ths OM. Even with the sight all the way down. I had 12 rounds with 9.5 grains, and they shot lower, So this one needs a faster load or some sight work.
The rear sight blade is not as tall as most, I have a Bowen sight I might try on it...tj
