Still having trouble getting used to a scope on a pistol, but I actually loaded up 4 different .454 casull loads in the BFR instead of my normal heavy .45 colt loads. The last load of a nice dose of H110 and 300 grain xtp, the first 3 shots went into 3/8" at 50 yards and the last 2 shots opened it up to 2 1/2".

ARE YOU USING A REST OR SHOOTING OFF HAND? IF YOU ARE USING A REST AND HAVE "WOBBLE" YOU ARE USING A CRUMMY REST AND/OR SHOOTING AT TOO HIGH A POWER SETTING AND/OR HAVE POOR REST TECHNIQUE. IF YOU ARE SHOOTING OFF HAND, 4X AND ABOVE WILL GET 'ya PLENTY OF WOBBLE.

Shooting with hands wedged between legs. Same way I shoot my iron sighted pistols. I do back my magnification off.

I first encountered shooting with optics (reflex/red dot) at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy weapons instructor school when Glock reps came with all their toys and a majority of their pistols had these sights on them. ILEA called it the angry bee.....the little red dot moving all over the place on the target. Boy were they right and it's even more pronounced when you add magnification into the equation

Well, sent 5 more rounds of that last load down range.....only changes were that I used a pistol rest and it's fairly windy. The free recoil of shooting off a rest didn't help with my groups. I will just stick to my normal seated and wedged hands and just send more rounds down range.

Well, was just cleaning up the BFR......felt a wobble in the scope. Upon closer inspection, the MRI scope base was loose. Took scope off and degreased the base screws and torqued everything back down. Will test again later this week. But, I still need to get used to the wobble

But, I still need to get used to the wobble The wobble is there, no matter what the sighting device. You have to shoot thru the wobble.... focus on your crosshairs, control your breathing, and squeeze the trigger. The wobble is a mental issue - pay it no attention. Try it and you'll be surprised of the results. PS...Laying off caffeine can help.

I've lusted after a BFR but they don't offer a .45 Colt 5 shot. OP, how does it shoot with .45 Colt ammo?
