My son Tucker wants to become a single action gun smith. He was impressed with John Linebaugh and became friends with him at a seminar. Tucker found a cap and ball revolver kit a Colt Navy copy at a yard sale. Someone never got it assembled and lost a few small parts. I can't find the parts so he is making a "hand" out of scrap. There is allot of work, a few parts to make and it will shoot. He will have more time invested than what its worth, but allot will be learned by the time its done.

Give that lad a pat on the back for all of us, Texas. Kids like that are the future of our freedom.

Hang in there Tucker. When its finished and it works you will certainly know how and why it works. Don't get discouraged if something doesn't work right. Just go do something else to clear your head and go back to it.

Thak's guys. If anyone has any unused bad parts, or ruined grips I woud pay shipping so that he can use them to learn on. He has taken a 1911 thumb safty that I removed too much metal while fitting. He welded it up with a ARC WELDER ! Three times! Before he got it to work on my 45. I had told him it would'nt work. Well ol dad was wrong on that one. He has plans to checker my sledge hammer, hoe, and shovel as soon as I can get him the files.

Nothin' works better'n tellin' a kid somethin' can't be done!

You know what, I have an unmounted set of 1 piece Red Oak burls for an SAA that I got along with a bunch of miscallaneous scopes, parts etc. in a deal a couple years ago. Does your son want them? If so, pay the shipping and they belong to you.
