After you guys pointing it out I pulled it out and looked closer. Took pictures to share. Hate to see this. Has no effect on the function but... Most will take it as an indication of how well the rest of the gun is done.

Wonder if they had a visual dilemma stemming from the cylinder bolt being so offset to the right.
As there is no question of strength, they optimized the side view aesthetics by bracketing the flutes around the bolt notch.
Looks clean from the side but goofy from the front.

Ok that’s just too goofy for me. I know it doesn’t hurt snything, and it probably is on purpose. But that’s just not right, I couldn’t get past that unless the gun was free!

Between the flutes and completely covered with writing, I'll pass on even exploring these. The seams and screw heads aren't great either...
