I likw the new sights, much easier for me to see, and it appears to give greater precision. Good job. The action and subsequent targets I will be interested in seeing.

You might as well take up engraving and color case, too. You're already doing all the other things to it!
I like it.

I've been using Ron Powers series I & II jigs for years for 1911 trigger work. Also have the adapter for NM Blackhawks. But OM Blackhawks and Single Six triggers...well, had to think outside of the box to use the Powers jigs. Anyway, I figured it out and did the trigger job on this OM SS. Wow! I really like this OM trigger. The sights were easy to regulate but I made the front sight too narrow. Vertical stringing because I couldn't get a consistent level plane with the rear. Also, depending on if there was a cloud blocking the direct sunlight, I essentially got 2 groups on the target at 20 yds. Proof is on the paper.

I've made another front blade that's .010 wider than the first attempt. Same height but not as much blade exposed from the base (got that idea from one of the photos posted on this forum.) And, no where near as elegant as 2dogs artistry but will work for me. Next question...What/how to get that flat dark black on the "whatever steel" sight?

Nice work, Sir!!
Well done.
What is the final width of the front blade? And, what is the width of the opening in the rear sight? How do you like how the front sight is framed now? Are there any other changes that you are thinking about now?

That's similar to my planned project on the SS flat top we just purchesed. Will use one of Ronnie's PJ jr. grip frames and hopefully fermin's new sights. We need another .32 mag!

For rWt...rear notch width is .118 / front sight width is .104. Sight radius is 5.82".

The taller base/shorter blade really looks nice.

The daughter liked mine so much, she had me build a clone of my Birdshead OM Single Six for her. Grip frame mounted after a couple of days of careful sanding. Trigger return spring block fabricated and trigger job went perfectly. Sights were fabricated using my mini-lathe w/milling adapter. I really do need to get a vertical mill because now... I GOT PLANS TO DO MORE STUFF. Regulated the sights to 15 yards with some CCI "Tactical" 40 gr. RN. Velocities averaged at 996 and 963 fps respectively from each revolver. Advertised velocity was 1200 fps on the packaging. Despite the pair of "obligatory fliers" and my tendency to "push left" on that off centered trigger, I liked how this endeavor turned out. And as you guys have reminded me, "Proof is on the target."
