Very nice looking piece. The barrel flats just look right with the square frame the BFR's have. How do the grips feel? My JH modified grip frame (base extended) and grips that were provided with my 475 BFR when I bought it were way too fat for me and I have pretty good sized hands.

They feel great and fit my hand perfectly. Jack had me trace my hand and send it with the grips. Also meant to mention he must have did something to the gun because the cylinder lock up is much better ( less movement) and it feels smoother overall.

I think I'd be thrilled too. Very nicely done.

The big bore bore boys should be having flashbacks of the recent discussion we had about dirt cheap short cylinder BFRs or sale out there....

Rigby, Very nice , However fix the issues you brought up to fit you desired expectations or a nice gun it stays verses a Great gun that you desire. Just speaking from past experiances for what it is worth.

I dropped mine by Harton's shop for a little trimmin' to fit my hand and I like it better than my Bisley's.

Just speaking from past experiances for what it is worth. I hear you Boomer, and if I would have paid top dollar and waited a year I would probably would be bothered by it, just on principle. But honestly it doesnt bother me in the least. I only brought it up to give a honest detail of the work. I was actually toying with the idea of a 6" barrel before putting in the order. So to get a 5.75" is kinda cool in a way. I never discussed the Micarta I wanted other then white. In the future I know to tell him what I want. As far as the rest of the gun the fit and function is excellent. With the cost, the quality of the work and the turn around time I can see myself using Jack again. I guess that the highest praise I can give him.

That's a great looking gun. One of these days I'm gonna have to cave in & have a custom gun done. All these customs you guys keep showing are making me drool...

Lee, like to see how you do it. Could you post a tutorial like you did with the 44?

It's a beautiful gun for sure, but I just have to say it. I can't quite get past the placement of that grip screw. It just draws my eye in there and everything is completely off balance.

Interesting comment. It made me go take a look and my Harton modified JRH grip frame where I note that the grip screw is located where one would generally expect it. I wonder why he located it there? Perhaps to keep it away from ones right hand finger tips?
