NO LACK OF NICE GRIPS IN THE GARZA HOUSEHOLD. SO, GOT RAINED OUT FROM SHOOTING THIS WEEKEND, AND DECIDED TO SWITCH A PAIR OF VERY NICE KEN DRISKILL ELK STAG GRIPS, WITH MEDALLIONS, FROM A 5" MODEL OF 1989 25-7 45 COLT FOR A PAIR OF OUTSTANDING EAGLE SAMBAR STAG GRIPS OFF OF A NICKELED N #'ed 8 3/8ths" MODEL 27-2. ABOVE ARE THE REVOLVERS AFTER THE SWITCH.

At least you have guns to switch them too! I have grips and grip frames for single actions that don't even have guns to go on!

WHILE NOT THE BEST, NOR EVEN NEAR BEST, PLATFORM FOR A 45 COLT REVOLVER, N FRAMES STILL STIR MY SOUL.

For standard loads in 45 Colt, I carry my 4” 625 Mountain Gun quite often. If large or dangerous critters may be encountered, I’ll switch to a 5 shot SA with much healthier loads. As ugly as the Hogue rubber grips are, I like them on a working belt gun, over the pretty wood or antler.

Function over good looks…… I can grab my gun with finger groove hogue’s without looking and they seem to just fit my hand perfectly. Both on S&W N Frames and Super RedHawks. They are not pretty, for sure, but I also shoot better with them.

Ugly is under appreciated.
I've heard that if a man wants to be happy the rest of his life, he should make an ugly woman his wife. Dad used to tell the story of an old couple he knew. The wife was one of the least attractive women he'd ever seen; but she had a heart of gold. Her husband once told my dad that he was very appreciative for her looks because if she looked different guys far richer & more attractive than he would constantly be trying to woo her away from him.
Back to grips... I have some beautiful grips; but they're mostly in boxes while those ugly rubber ones reside on the guns.
