Those Shooting Stars great DA revolver grips. A set of those on a particularly slick old Model 28 got me top shooter for the whole four months of my academy class and a gold expert pin at the end of it.
Of course this is 40+ years ago when KCPD had a 50 yard pistol range and the Basic course was essentially PPC, sped up for the close stages.

axe: I SEE THAT TYPE OF WEAR ON WOOD GRIPS IN A LOT OF PRE-WAR DA REVOLVERS. I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THE WEAR TO BE FROM BEING CARRIED A LOT AND/OR BEING SHOT A LOT. IF THE GRIPS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE GUN AND DO NOT LOOK WORN THE GUN PROBABLY DID NOT SEE MUCH USE.

Gun is in really nice shape. A little carry wear but virtually unfired. Grips, while they'll be kept with the gun, are not serial numbered to the gun.
