I don't have any, but thinking maybe I ought to some day. Maybe something on my well worn 1956 357 flattop.
Suggestions are welcome, but keep in mind I'm on a retirement budget.

No regrets, I'm more fortunate than many, less than others... I've been blessed with what I have, life is pretty OK.

My only regret is not getting hooked on single actions sooner, and as a result not even going the custom route until recently. My first custom is currently in progress at Bowen: a Ruger single-six 22LR rimfire that will also have custom SK mesquite grips. Assuming that all goes well with that, I plan on starting another shortly after with a centerfire. Not sure what yet, but leaning toward a 44 special. Better late than never I guess.

I had an early 80s 357 blackhawk on layaway at my LGS and I took it off to buy something else that I don’t even remember what it was.
That was going to be the base gun for my first single action barrel swap, a 10.5” max barrel. Now I still don’t have the base gun and none on the horizon to ever do the project.

Being born in ‘86 certainly isn’t doing me any favors regarding custom revolvers.
As Huey has pointed out, I’m younger than his socks. And his socks own a few custom Clements guns, rumor has it…

Clements always treated me more than fair. He catered to my off the wall ideas and built them with class.
45 Schofield, 45 Auto Rim (5 and 6-Shot), 38-40 and 44-40 (5 and 6-Shot), Bearcat 327 Federal and all sorts of stuff.
A Master Machinist that'll never be replaced...

When I first got on the forum, I spoke with WildWillAlaska, about his collections of big bore shorties. He offered up a Linebaugh Vaquero shortie cannot recall caliber 475 or 500. I came so close to getting it, but knew I’d have to modify it to shoot it accurately. I cannot tolerate the Vaquero rounded backstrap/topstrap where it blends into the rear sight. So I chose not to purchase and modify one of John’s guns, instead I had JRH make my avatar gun for me, with my modified rear sights. So a bit of regret and a bit of good choice as I LOVE my avatar gun. I also should have purchased something from Alpha Precision/Jim Stroh, but that may work out in the future, so who knows.

Just fine here with the majority being Harton pieces with Bowen, Clements, Stroh and an Evolution Gun Works thrown in.

I had one that I really miss and think of often. I was pawn shopping in Pocatello Idaho many years ago, and happened across a 4.5" blued Seville in 45 Colt. It had a rounded butt and the surface had some damage like it had ridden around under a truck seat for awhile. The cylinder was unfluted and the action was as smooth as glass. I bought it and took it home. I disassembled it to clean and oil everything. On the inside of the grip panels was marked Deer and Antelope in pencil with how many of each had been taken. The gun was insanely accurate and quickly became one of my favorites. When I moved from Idaho to Arkansas the rear sight got broken in transit. When I was at one of the Linebaugh big bore shoots, John and I were talking. He showed me his Seville with Lee Jurras' name on it, and I told him the story about my 45 Seville and asked what to do about the broken rear sight. He immediately switched gears and asked what the serial number was. I couldn't remember off the top of my head, so he asked for more details... Sorry, long post here... It turned out that when John had gotten divorced, his ex wife took all of her guns with her and a bunch of them ended up in various pawn shops. Anyway, back to the story... we concluded that this was probably the gun and I said that I would check the serial number and text him after I got home. He asked if I wanted to sell or trade it. I replied that I was really attached to it. John said that he understood, but that his boys had been looking for that gun for a long time and really wanted it back. What can you say to that, but yes sir I will box it up and send it off as soon as I get home. We discussed him making me a stainless Bisley in 500Linebaugh. I wanted an Octagon barrel, but John preferred to do round barrels. He finally caved and agreed to the Octagon barrel. After the gun was delivered, we talked and he was so pleased with how the gun came out (stainless with Ebony grips), that he was going to make it a standard offering. Sorry again for the long post.

Only regret is that I didn't buy base guns for future projects earlier. Damn hard to find OM Blackhawks in any flavor around here. They come and go on Gun Broker, been in many a battle at the end of an auction and the prices became way out of control.
I will continue the search!

We all miss the $150 used Rugers. Should have bought more of them back then.

"With Linebaugh leaving us too soon, Clements retiring and others slowing down....what's your Single Action Regrets?"
The ones I stupidly sold after having them customized

I regret not ignoring my wife telling me to wait until the kids were out of the house to start having a few custom dream guns built. I had intended to have David Clements build me a couple of nice, affordable (in my price range anyway) guns. Now David has retired and the cost of my custom singleaction dreams have shot through the roof.
