I don't have many. The last few years were spent playing catch up for me.
Having built quite a number of Custom Revolvers, I've only got two Big Boomers in the lot. A Midframe Flattop Bisley 480 Ruger by JRH and a Bisley 500 Linebaugh.
Most of my customs are retro and hyphenated cartridges.
My Single Action Regret is not getting Clements to build me any Rimfires. I bought three Bisley Single Sixes for base guns, but never got around to it.
With Linebaugh leaving us too soon, Clements retiring and others slowing down....what's your Single Action Regrets?

The only custom single action regret I have involved a Quest gun that the builder did not check the notes and did not built it with the parts I sent him. Beautiful gun but it bugged me every time I looked at it and held it so I sold it and scratched him off my list of Quest gun builders.

Not retiring and building more sooner.

My only regret is buying my most recent Harley instead of sending my guns on to Mr. Linebaugh a few years earlier. They're consecutive serial number guns he was going to make a matched set best grade 475 and 500 with box and accessories.

Not starting sooner with Linebaugh and having never sent anything to Clements. That's my regrets.

Telling Linebaugh last August that I wasn't in a terrible rush when he called to finalize specs (lesson learned on that one)...not getting something from Jim Stroh (started too late and was fortunate enough to at least get parts for use on another commission)...not having Gallagher put his maker's mark on my first custom (didn't know any better).
And as far as satisfaction with end product, there are two that didn't quite hit the mark. One has a gritty action and the polish prior to nickeling is pedestrian at best, and the other has an ER that is just enough off that it won't slide through the ER hole in cylinder frame. Both top names and I would have expected better for money paid. Outside of those two, I've been very pleased with outcomes.

A store I frequented had a Linebaugh Bisley .45 Colt "conversion". I used quotes because it was still a six shot, but tight chamber I assume, action blocked and all that. I don't remember the price now, but it was probably in the $650-850 range. Which for me at the time, might as well been $6k-$8k. That one I think about now and then.
Most of my custom regrets are about not bidding higher on a few of them.

A few guns I didn't buy when I had the money and opportunity to such as Linebaugh guilt Bisley Vaquero in 500L for $1250. I FA97 44sp for $1200, a S&W 4" 29-2 for $550, and several more. Something about pending mortgage payments, car payments, groceries, etc. kept me from in line.
Ce la vie as they say

I mostly collect "as shipped" Rugers. I've mostly avoided the "custom" route in general. But I now own one that I have no idea who did the work, but it's a sweet shooter, chopped down OM Super Blackhawk. I removed the factory brass g/f and installed a stainless Bisley g/f & stainless ERH. Got it cheap, and it's nice. As for regrets,, I only have one, and it's not a total regret. Many years ago, I found a Bowen built, converted OM FT .357 that is now a .44 Spl. It was offered at a very, very fair price for what it was,, yet, I hesitated. But after a month, and it still available, I bought it. I wanted to "upgrade" an OM FT 357 I had & the parts I needed were on the Bowen. The g/f, ERH, & ER. Well, The barrel had been set back a bit, and was now a 4-1/2" and the ERH had also been cut back. I did swap out the g/f & rod though. At the time, I didn't have any .44 Spl brass,, nor really felt the need to get any. So, I never shot it. A good friend wanted it,, and he came to visit with a trade in mind. After a bit of haggling,, we came to an agreement,, (no, I didn't profit off him, I broke even.) I got an addition of a NICE OM Ruger & some boot, and he left with the Bowen. His son has the gun out in Wyoming & LOVES it.
I kinda regret letting a Bowen escape,, but then again,, it is appreciated & enjoyed.

Regret is a terrible thing and I try to take a more philosophical approach. I do wish I had sent one to Horvath 20yrs before I did but that's being rectified as we speak. I also wish I'd had Stroh do a "Best Grade" custom but I do have a .44Spl conversion he did for me. I already have way more guns than I'll ever shoot. Life is good and I can't complain too much.

I had Andy Horvath do my first bit of custom work 30 years ago. Since then I've bought what I liked. Sometimes I've passed on things i thought were overpriced that I wish I had now, but at the time they probably were overpriced.
I do regret letting a Linebaugh 500 bisley vaquero go, but I traded it away in a very fair deal and really like what I got in return. Since then I purchased from John a Super Grade 45 Colt and 500 as well as a Dustin Bisley Vaquero in 500, so probably have my bases covered.

Not ordering a Linebaugh when I talked to John back in 2012.
