Haven't shot a handgun or rifle since last November, but with the weather in the 60s and the sun out it seemed like a good day to get out and shoot. Got a new to me 624-4 Mountain gun in 45 ACP the other day. This is one of the good ones! No lock, no MIM, and No EDM rifling. Just the good stuff. After cleaning it up and putting on a set of Keith Brown I ran 20 rounds down range. I was rusty, and it shows, but I think the gun has real potential, This was the first group, offhand at 25 yards
I'm really not a rifle shooter, but ran into a deal I couldn't turn down. It's a 6920 OEM2. Basically the complete rifle minus stock, handguard, and trigger guard. added those items and an inexpensive burris 3-9x and got to work. It seemed to show a real preference for the fiocchi 50 grain vmax ammo shooting under 1" at 100 yards and just over that with PMC FMJ.

I haven't shot outdoors since October and today is in the 40s with 15 mile an hour winds. BUT spring is coming! I have 2000 plastic vials with pre-measured black powder amounts, nine new .22s and one more sixgun to shoot which can't be revealed yet. Definitely ready for spring.

CAN'T IMAGINE NO OUTSIDE SHOOTING FOR MONTHS. LIVING IN BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS, WE HAVE SHOOTING WEATHER YEAR ROUND. RIGHT NOW THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS THE ALMOST CONSTANT 20-40mph WINDS.

We've been getting the wind here too. When I was in my 20s I'd shoot year round. Now I shoot shotgun year round but skip pistol and rifle when it's much below 50, which is about 4 or 5 months. Always humbling the first range trip of the year!
