I see more deer daily from my front porch in North Carolina 5 miles from a town of 35,000 than I do in South Carolina on my land in a county of only 35,000 people. It just doesn't seem right. This pic is my current porch view but some days I see as many as 20 deer in the field across the road.

I've seen several in Gastonia and Charlotte. I took a nice doe during Urban Archery in Belmont.
Only critter NC has more of (except Yankees) is coyotes.

This time of year they are out more searching for good food. Spotting them like this isn't uncommon.

A few live across the street from me in Glenn Hilton Park in Hickory, and cross into my yard on occasion. Groundhogs live in my backyard.

In a month or so, they'll disappear again, to drop fawns back in the brush.

"The deer or the Yankees?"
I busted out laughing at this reply.
