Bullet didnt even open up did it? I'd say yes the bullet opened up. The impact spun the coyote nearly 160 degrees. In my experience the TTSX do a lot of internal damage but have smallish exits in the hide unless bone is hit He never twitched after the shot

Did you by chance weigh it? Im just curious about over-all weights around the country. After being taught a few little tricks by a member here, I called and killed a yote; a very prime, mature yote. I thought "Dang I am getting old quick. That bugger is heavy!" I brought the truck to it to load it. At the house on a game scale, the female weighed just a hair under 50 pounds! Did not appear to be pregnant but I didn't look with a knife. So, in theory, there "could" be a 60 pound coyote out there somewhere in my neck of the woods.

Here, I have friends that nuisance trap over in the eastern 'burbs of Cleveland. The heaviest they have gotten was 68 lbs. I see them here, 3 packs within hearing of house, they look same size as my 60lb Lab. True, they've quite a bit more coat. These are not the 35-45 lbs desert S.W. coyotes. Here, deer and garbage rich environment. Turkey numbers have dropped some, forget grouse and pheasant coming back. Quail ? Nope. Division of critter folks avoid this discussion.

Isnt it funny how the Critter Division selectively chooses what information they want to take into account?

No I have not weighed this yote. Around here 30 to 35 pounds is not normal. 40 to 50 pounds aren't unheard of. 60 pounds is enormous for a pure coyote
We're have some that have interred with feral dogs and some people mistake them for wolves. Louisiana isn't supposed to have any wolves. We do have some Red Wolf crosses

Texas Wildlife Goons say the Texas Red Wolf is completely extinct, unless you shoot one and you will be in huge trouble. So everything I shoot is a coyote. Coy-dogs dont make it long. They get sorted out really quick. I dont think they have time to rebreed. At least in our area, I dont know about other areas of the country.
