Old stuff like the above pictures remind us that "things are always as the seem!" Decades ago,, the landscape looked different for sure. When left alone, Mother Nature can & will reclaim things.
I once had a "discussion" with someone who was complaining about "clear cutting" timber. I politely told them that; "You can clear cut the land, not touch it, and Mother Nature will rebuild it w/o any help. You can't say that in all the places that man decides to clear, pave & build upon and maintain it as such. Paved roads, golf courses, houses, condos, cities, towns, etc all require lumber,, and when you keep Mother Nature from reclaiming it, YOU are the reason things are the way they are."
When man decides to no longer utilize a piece of property,, Mother Nature will quietly & carefully reclaim things, and future generations will discover a time capsule like the good stuff above.
Love the pictures!

Love the pictures! So true! Our place was clear cut 20 years ago with the intention of replanting it with pines but my dad was talked out of it by his second wife who didn't agree on the economics of the plan. So it grew back completely natural and wild with a mix of hardwoods and pines. It created some nice deer habitat. The only thing I regretted about that plan is the fact that there was a 1956 Chevy V8 hood complete with pristine hood bird that was buried in the process. I could have sold that hood to a collector.

I once found a brassiere with a rather large cup size along side a trail in state land. I can imaging a way or two this could happen. lol
A few feet away was a tree with two opposing, broken off branches of equal height, like arms. Which is to say, when I left the tree was wearing the bra. Somewhere I have a photograph I took. Next time through it was gone, I guess it's owner reclaimed it.
