It's funny you mention this.
I'm awaiting a delivery of a S&W 617 that's coming with a Speed-Beez set like that, AND a second speed loader. Looking forward to trying it out.

Well, I was able to take out the 617 today,, and try out the Speed Beez loaders as well. BOTH impressed me. I started at 25 yds,, standing & offhand. First cylinder was SA, to get a feel for the gun. (It's had an action job & I wanted to see how it performed.) I managed a reasonable first group of about 2-1/2". I snapped another 10 rounds in the gun,, and went to DA mode. I'll admit to hurrying myself a bit,, yet I still got about a 4" group. Then,, after snapping in a fresh batch of ammo,, I moved to 100 yds,, and decided to try a standing, DA group. Well, I can tell I need to do some more work,, as I got a pattern of about 10-12" after firing 2 cylinders full. I didn't have the time left to get on the bags,, or other ammo to try out. I was using the cheap wally world bulk pack Federal 550 count stuff I'd bought years ago. Once I return from SHOT this week, and get caught up a bit,, I plan on doing an ammo test,, and using the bench & a rest at 25 yds to start. We;ll see how it does with some different ammo. Then,, I'll step back to 50 yds,,and start over.  |
