I've had more heart problems and haven't had a chance to review my holster on here yet, but I can say it is high quality and he's a really great guy to deal with. I will buy more of his holsters once I get back in the swing of things.

Big Bore, that's a beautiful rig! The height looks about right too. Nice work, you nailed it!

That looks great. I was wondering how thick of leather you use for the holster? Is it one heavier piece or two thinner ones? Again that looks awesome

Again that looks awesome It really depends on what firearm this is being built for. If it’s a really big/heavy gun then I’ll use two pieces glued and stitched together. This adds a lot of rigidity to it. If it’s just a normal sized revolver (example - ruger BH w/7.5” barrel), then I’ll use one piece of leather in the 10 ounce range. Thanks for asking.

I carried my SSM in this rig today for the first time afield. Really comfortable and out of the way while setting up the range for some load testing I posted in the 32's thread.
This thing is totally out of the way. It stays close to the body, even while bending over. No flop while on the four-wheeler either.
Very secure and covered up the gun well for protection without being slow to draw. I can see my Blackhawk being out of the way with the second holster he sent fitted to the same harness. A second holster is ideal for this rig since it just attaches by qd style clips without any adjustments needed to the harness.
There's a large (350+) black bear sow with a cub hanging out on my place, so it was nice having my pea-shooter 32 out of the way of my larger problem solver on my belt!
It's been more than once I have been predator calling and something bigger showed up. Never had figured out how to carry two revolvers comfortably all day before. This works great and I think it's just the rig for handling hounds and negotiating brush, yet keeping the revolver instantly available.
I recommend it highly.

I appreciate the field-use review. Here is another I just finished for a Smith & Wesson X-Frame in 350 Legend. <img src="http://

I just got one of these rigs and thought I would share my experience. For reference, this is my first custom holster, ever. I have a RBH in 45 colt that I’ve tinkered with pretty extensively. I fit a Ruger factory bisley gf and take off Ruger .454 SBH barrel, a longer 6 inch ERH, and a barrel band wrapped up to a Fermin Garza front sight. It’s an ugly Frankenstein pistol. The above is really all the detail that I sent (with a few measurements). After a few messages back and forth, I started waiting. What I received was a functional work of art and craftsmanship. The leather feels very solid, and after leaving the gun in for two days, it fits perfectly. The harness is perfect with plenty of room for adjustment and the gun is secure, I couldn’t be happier. The price was more than fair and the wait time was much less than quoted. At least when I miss hogs and deer I will look like a real handgun hunter(as long as the gun stays in the holster).

I am ordering one as soon as I can get a tracing done. If you need to provide him a tracing of a gun, let me know. If I have a version of it I can lend it to him to work with. Trapr

Trapr Do you have a Ruger maximum and a short cylinder BFR he could use? I'm going to order another rig before too long and would like to have holsters for those too. The rig I have was ordered pretty large for outside of a winter coat. Now that it's 90 degrees, I don't think I need the coat. Time for a more fitting summer rig. Also think it'll be a good way to carry a Bowie out of the way while handling the hounds and pushing through brush. I'm a firm fan of the pig sticker, but they can get in the way.

How close is the BFR short cylinder model to a Blackhawk in size?
